Traditional electric dryers are essentially high-powered hair dryers: they pull cold air from your laundry room, blast it through electric heating elements, blow it through your wet clothes to evaporate moisture, and then vent that hot, humid air straight outside through a hole in your wall.
Heat pump dryers throw out that wasteful “once-and-done” approach in favor of a closed-loop refrigeration cycle:
Gentle Closed-Loop Air: Instead of venting your conditioned indoor air outside, the dryer circulates a warm, dry stream of air through the drum to absorb moisture from your clothes.
Condensation & Extraction: That humid air passes through an evaporator, which cools the air down to condense and extract the moisture (draining it away via a built-in tank or a hose hooked to your laundry drain).
Heat Recycling: The system captures the thermal energy rather than wasting it, routes it through a condenser to reheat the air, and sends it right back into the drum.
